The designer Davide Tonizzo has attempted to make a social bridge between China and Italy, 2 countries that both have a solid history of craftsmanship.

In Mandarin Chinese, Wàigong is the word for maternal grandfather. This clock is a present day returned to form of the floor pendulum clock, commonly known as the “grandfather” clock. The red and gold hues which are synonymous with Chinese custom, mixes flawlessly with the minimal design apparent in Italian style.

The name Uaigong, is the careful spelling of the Italian articulation of the Mandarin word.

The Progetti Uaigong Clock is available is 4 colour combinations: Black / Gold, Red / Gold, White / Gold, White / Black, Black / White.

The cuckoo movement is battery operated and has a light sensor that automatically turns off the cuckoo sound in the absence of light. A push button allows you to adjust the volume or mute the sound completely.
